Spring’s warmer temperatures and lengthening days bring about many changes in the natural landscape. Join us for a brisk walk along one of the longer trails to experience spring in the Preserve. This walk, depending on trail conditions, may be 2.8 to 4-miles long. Pre-registration is required by 12:00 noon on the Friday before the hike. Free. All ages welcome - children younger than 12 may find this hike challenging. Call (727) 453-6800 to learn more about this exciting event and to register.

Now in its 24th year, the Green Thumb Festival features environmental and horticultural exhibits, vendors (with every kind of plant imaginable), the Garden Club of St. Petersburg Flower Show, a grow and share program, a diagnostic clinic (bring soil and water samples), a recycling rally, free mulch, plant auction, more than 2,000 trees for sale for $3, free Butterfly plants (500 each day), tool sharpening booth, entertainment, children's programs, other environmental programs and exhibits, and a food court!

Celebrate Arbor Day with the City of Clearwater's tree giveaway event. 1,800 trees will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents can receive two free trees per household and can choose from these species: Live Oak, Shumard Oak, Chickasaw Plum, Red Cedar, Bald Cypress, Southern Magnolia, Red Maple, Slash Pine, Walters Viburnum, and four colors of Crape Myrtles (pink, white, red, and lavender).
