Highland Family Aquatic Center Open for Spring Break

The aquatic center features an activity pool with zero depth entry, new double slide and three other children's slides, spray ground and water basketball. The multipurpose pool has two 3-story tower slides including a 214 foot corkscrew and speed slide as well as water volleyball. There is a minimum height restriction of 48 inches to ride the tower slides. Other amenities include Splash's snack bar, family restroom, bath houses, umbrellas, deck chairs and lounges. Life jackets are available on a first come basis. No food or drinks will be allowed inside the facility.
Daily admission fees are $5 per person for Largo residents and $6 per person for non-residents (must show current Largo recreation card). Guest fees without a Largo recreation card are $8 per person. Children ages 2 or younger can enter free. (727)518-3019 or visit LargoPools.com.

Bring your favorite pooch to participate in games, activities, lessons, and demonstrations. Spoil him or her with the bounty of products offered by the many vendors specializing in pet related products. By the end of the day, you'll not just have had a great day with your entire family, but you'll have helped raise funds that will be put to good use in your own community. Get your questions answered and learn tips from the pool pros at this year's Residential Pool Care Seminar brought to you by the Largo Recreation, Parks and Arts Department. All participants will receive insider information and receive important handouts on residential pool maintenance, equipment, costs and safety. Refreshments will be served at each session and pool related door prizes will be given away.
Topics include chemical uses and differences, basic water testing, home pool safety tips, hurricane preparedness, the role of local code enforcement, home pool repairs, and selecting a pool service.

On Friday, April 15th, walkers will go around the clock in the battle against cancer during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Largo. Teams of Largo residents and surrounding communities will gather for an overnight relay to celebrate survivors, honor lost loved ones and raise money to support the ongoing fight against cancer.
Relay For Life of Largo kicks off at 6pm with a Survivors Lap, where all cancer survivors are invited to circle the park together to celebrate the victories they've achieved over cancer. After sundown, those who have been touched by cancer or have lost their lives to this disease will be honored in the event's Luminaria Ceremony. This event is open to the public and will include live music, food, games and a traditional pancake breakfast starting at approximately 8am April 16th.
