Seniors in their 80s and youths of the 21st century gather for the entertainment and camaraderie that is part and parcel of a game that's woven into the fabric of St. Petersburg. Games from friendly to tournament level take place at this historical and cultural landmark. Those looking to brush up on their shuffleboard skills or try the game for the first time can join in the fun every Friday from 7 to 11 p.m., weather permitting. The free outdoor diversion includes use of equipment, access to volunteers who can guide newcomers on the basics and entertainment provided by members who create play lists on their iPods. Built in the 1920s and featured in the movie Cocoon, the Mirror Lake Shuffleboard Club's complex houses 32 lighted courts (65 total) and an amazing old grandstand - a reminder of how popular a spectator sport shuffleboard was in its heyday.

3rd Annual Summer Jazz Series Jazz: the Art of Music will feature some of the best local jazz in the Tampa bay area every Friday from 6-9 p.m. June 4th -August 28th. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and will include admission to galleries in the Hazel Hough wing. This is an ideal way to celebrate the beginning of the weekend in one of the most spectacular settings in the area. The groups will perform in the glass Conservatory, and listeners can also mingle on the terrace overlooking the bay. The new MFA Café will be open for dinner and there will be a cash bar available for beer and wine. No food or drink is allowed in the galleries. Table reservations are strongly suggested.

Prizes awarded to the first and second place teams in each age division. $25 per participant and includes green fee, electric cart, player gift and hamburger dinner at the completion of play. Tournament format will be a 9 hole scramble held at Largo Golf Course. Teams will be two person, parent/child teams, composed of one adult (parent/grandparent/aunt/uncle) and one student. Teams will be placed in divisions (Elementary, Middle School and High School) based on the grade the student will be entering in August 2010. Prizes awarded to the first and second place teams in each age division. $25 per participant and includes green fee, electric cart, player gift and hamburger dinner at the completion of play. Registration is required by August 20th.

Saturday Sunsets on the Trail is a sunset celebration that takes place along Treasure Island's gulf front beach trail on the first and third Saturdays of June, July & August and the first Saturday in September. This free family event features artisans, crafters, street performers and live musical entertainment, weather permitting, from 5pm until 9pm.

Performing your favorite classic rock tunes. join us for facing and/or listening in the Courtyard every Sunday for our Music Fest on the Water. (Every Sunday indefinitely) The landmark Pier in the heart of St. Petersburg is a unique piece of Florida architecture that offers visitors a chance to experience the waterfront along Tampa Bay. Located at the end of a 1/4-mile-long approach, this five story inverted pyramid features shops, restaurants, its own aquarium, live music and even boat docks. The top floor of The Pier combines both the tropical dining of Cha Cha Coconuts with a huge observation deck, giving the visitor a truly unique observation point on Tampa Bay.
