Satin Lips
must take precautions against the effects weather will have on our delicate lips. They are exposed to the wind, the sun, and the cold all the time. There are many products on the market to help prevent lips from cracking, and drying out, but they also have petroleum or animal fat.
Protective lip gloss:
1oz beeswax
2 Tbls sweet almond oil
10 drops Jojoba oil
5 drops carrot oil
1 capsule ( 250ius) vitamin E
Use a bain-marie method, melt beeswax and then add almond oil. Stir all the time. Then add jojoba ooil, carrot oil, and vitamin E. Stir again. Mix in 10 drops of either of these essential oils- Lavender, Rose, Geranium, or Lemon. For more information on use of essential oils contact Donna.
Cellulite
You can win the battle but you havea hard time winning the war. There are cosmetic, lotions, potions, and expensive medical procedures to fight cellulite but what are the result, the side effects, even the cost. Cellulite is a continuous fight but once you've changed your habits you can enjoy the victory. Cellulite is caused from many reasons from poor circulation , lack of oxygen, to water retention. Toxicity is a major cause of cellulite. The first thing to do is to cut out the coffee, tea, alcohol, and beverages with caffeine. Cellulite is toxins that get clogged up in the body tissue. It's hard to avoid these toxins because our environment is saturated with them, in the air we breath, the water we drink, the food we eat. The first form of attack is diet. Check with your healthcare practitioner & increase your vitamin C to 1000mg per day til cellulite is gone. Step up on your B vitamins as well as zinc. Check your supplements to make sure they are not derived from yeast. Drink spring water, fruit juices, and herb tea which you can add one drop of rosemary and lemon essential oils to. Eating raw cabbage is one of the best dietary steps you can take to rid the body of toxins. Here are six ways to start your battle plan against cellulite:
1. Skin-brushing using a natural brush. brush skin in an upward direction this will improve circulation.
2. Excercise the specific areas where cellulite is.
3.Massage everyday not only where the cellulit is but the whole body as well.
4. Oxygen is so important for a healthy body do breath deep. Breathing exercises can actually help shift cellulite.
5. Essential oils in a bath penetrate the skin by osmosis and while you are bathing pickand kneed the skin to break down the fatty deposit.
6. Relaxation will allow the body to shift the waste and fat deposit. We carry a full line of synergistic blends to help fight against the fat attack. We have bath blends for dieters. Toning bath blends which tone the skin without exercising, and massage oils for cellulite and dieters.
The program to fight cellulite should be as follows:
1 Brush skin as described in point one.
2 Bathe in warm to hot water with essential oils / pinch and kneed skin to break up cellulite
3 Take a cold shower to help contract blood vessels and help drain the lymph.
4 Then massage entire body with massage oil blend twice a day.
Beautiful Hands & Nails
Beautiful hands and nails just take a few minutes a day. Your nails are made of keratin a form of protein, just like your hair. Years ago gelatin tablets were the answer to more beautiful nails, now essential oils have proven themselves over and over again. Here is asimple formula you can apply to the cuticle at night or whenever skin feels dry.
Cuticle softener
1 teaspoon Jojoba oil
5 drops carrot oil
2 drops Eucalyptus / peppermint oil
If you have a fungal infection of the nail, substitute 2 drops lavender, 2 drops tea tree, for the eucalyptus/peppermint. Apply to the infected area 2-3 times a day.
To stimulate nail growth, try putting 15-20 drops of lavender essential oil into 4 oz's of hand cream. If you have arthritis try using rosemary essential oil in place of lavender.
Mini Spa Method for that extra special treat: you will need:
two small towels
a heating pad
hand cream with essential oils already mixed in
First wet one towel with hot water squeeze outexcess water. Apply hand cream to hands lay wet towel over hand then the dry towel over that place heating pad on top slip other hand under the wet towel relax for 20 minutes. AHHHH!!!
Fabulous Feet
Our feet are the most neglected part of our body. It's only when they begin to hurt do we look down and notice them. Essential oils provide the relief they need. Try soaking your feet in a bowl of warm water with a few dozen round pebbles, a tablespoon of salt and four (4) drops of your favorite essential oil in it. Roll your feet over the pebbles slowly and relax. Use either a pumice stone or natural volcanic rock to smooth away hard callous skin. Then rub salt all over your feet. massage in well. Let dry.
Create your own foot oil:
Place six (6) drops of any of the essential oils listed below to one (1) tablespoon olive oil or vitamin E oil.
Peppermint - Refreshing
Calendula or Tagets for hard skin and corns.
Lavender or Chamomile- for tired swollen feet. Use alone or mix in equal parts
Geranium- Improves elasticity and circulation. also prevents blistering.
Tea Tree- Antifungal great for athleats foot and toe nail fungus.
Pregnancy Pampering Tips
Take time to pamper yourself throughout your pregnancy.
Everyday rub your belly with vitamin E oil and Lavender and banish stretch marks!!! ( If vitamin E is to oily for you just add lavender to your favorite lotion.)
For bleeding gums put 3 drops tea tree oil in 6oz glass of water and use as a mouthwash to help stop the bleeding. It will also keep your breath fresh too.
Make a mixture of Witch Hazel and lavender to use as a facial toner. This mixture also helps keep blemishes away.
Your body goes through a lot of changes while you are pregnant and that effects your hair too! While you are pregnant, I strongly recommend that you do not use any permanent hair color nor get a body wave or a perm. These chemicals get absorbed through the scalp and enter the bloodstream . So why take unnecessary chances? There are semi-permanent colors now that cover grey sufficiently. If your nursing, stay away from any chemical processes. Opt for a new look such as a great hair cut that's right for your hair texture, facial shape, and life-style. Look for a cut that styles easy with a blow dryer, some mousse or gel. Three week to three months postpartum, you might notice some hair loss. Don't be alarmed. This is normal. Check with your doctor or midwife and see if you can take a b-complex which will be neficial to your hair growth. Keep your hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks to keep the ends strong.
